"How much for a website?" is the first question every business owner asks, and the honest answer is "it depends on what the website has to do". This guide gives you the real ranges we quote in 2026, what moves a project from one band to the next, and the costs people forget to budget for.
The four price bands
- Business website (5 to 8 pages): Rs 9,999 to Rs 25,000. Home, about, services, gallery, contact with a form and WhatsApp button, mobile-first design, basic SEO setup. Right for shops, clinics, consultants, schools and most local services.
- Custom corporate website (10 to 30 pages): Rs 25,000 to Rs 75,000. Custom UI design in Figma, blog, careers, multiple enquiry forms, animations, content management so your team can edit everything.
- E-commerce store: Rs 29,999 to Rs 1.5 lakh. Product catalogue, UPI and card payments, shipping integration, GST invoices, coupons and order tracking. Multi-vendor marketplaces go higher.
- Web application or portal: Rs 24,999 to Rs 5 lakh and above. Logins, dashboards, workflows, APIs and integrations. Here the price is driven by the number of screens and business rules, not pages.
What actually moves the price
Five things decide where your quote lands: the number of unique page layouts, whether the design is custom or template based, how much content you will supply versus what we must write and source, the integrations (payments, CRM, SMS, WhatsApp, ERP) and the timeline. A website needed in five days costs more than the same website in three weeks.
The costs people forget
- Domain name: roughly Rs 800 to Rs 1,500 per year for a .in or .com.
- Hosting: Rs 1,999 to Rs 6,000 per year for a business site on SSD hosting with a free SSL certificate; more for e-commerce or applications on a cloud VPS.
- Business email: Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,000 per user per year on Zoho or Google Workspace.
- Maintenance: updates, backups and small changes. Budget 15 to 20 percent of the build cost per year, or an annual care plan.
- Marketing: a website without SEO or ads is a brochure nobody reads. Local SEO starts around Rs 7,999 per month.
Red flags in a cheap quote
A Rs 2,999 website usually means a shared template, no mobile testing, no SEO basics, stock content and, most dangerously, the domain and hosting registered in the vendor's name. Always confirm in writing that the domain, hosting account and source files belong to you.
How to brief an agency and get an accurate quote
Share three websites you like and why, list the pages you need, say whether you have a logo and content, mention integrations and your deadline. With that brief, a serious agency gives you a fixed written quotation within a day. That is exactly how we work: send us your brief and we will reply with a fixed price and timeline.
